Actor Anil Kapoor believes the trust he has with directors is what motivates him to play a good character. During the press conference of ‘The Night Manager Part 2’ in Mumbai on Wednesday, Anil Kapoor said about the director of the series Sandeep Modi that his character Shelly has flourished because of the faith he had in him. Anil Kapoor said, ‘If I have played good roles in films like ‘Mashal’, ‘Ishwar’, ‘Lamhein’, ‘Karma’, ‘Beta’, the credit goes to the directors of these films.

Actor Anil Kapoor said, ‘There are some characters which are completely opposite to my personal life, as is the character of ‘The Night Manager’. For such a character, a little extra hard work has to be done. But it is not that I didn’t have to work hard for the characters who are similar to my personality. Whenever I get a script, I read it at least three hundred times and record my dialogues and send it to the director for suggestions. I remember when I did the film ‘Woh Saat Din’, after watching that film, I told Raj Kapoor that it is a very good film, do such a film.’
Be it films, series or television, Anil Kapoor says, ‘An actor should always keep working. We can meet each other during the shoot, but once the shoot is over, we can’t meet. Just like when I used to come from Mumbai to Delhi and Delhi to Mumbai by train, I used to meet a lot of people in the train. Many people get to know each other very well and when they get down from the train at Dadar station, they say that they will meet again, but they never meet again and remember only the moments spent with them. In the same way, the moments spent during the shooting are always remembered, meet someone occasionally, and never meet someone.

When we meet in an event, we express it as if we have met friends who were separated for so many days. This is a very good point. I have never been jealous of anyone. If ever there is a estrangement with someone, then the night is gone, thinking that the matter is gone, I forget it. I do not take anything that anyone says to heart.
